Manipulation: Lagos APC tells INEC to announce Presidential, NASS poll results now
The All Progressives Congress, APC, Lagos State chapter has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately, release the results of the presidential election in the state. Lagos State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, who made the call Monday in a media briefing, said the measure became necessary as the results of the elections which had been announced by collation centres across the state are already in the public domain, hence, the need for INEC to announce the outcome in order to prevent manipulation. “We have it on good authority that the PDP is plotting to manipulate the process in order to give itself undeserved and unmerited advantage by fiddling with the already known figures. This is potentially dangerous and if it does happen, President Jonathan and his handlers may set the country on the path of dishonour. “Faced with an embarrassing, humiliating and crushing defeat, PDP leaders have been running helter-skelter, holding secret meetings with security agencies to tinker with the results,” Igbokwe said. He stressed that, “Nigerians have the results in their hands all over the world and all we are waiting for is for the INEC and Professor Attahiru Jega to conclude leadership by announcing the presidential elections results as soon as possible. “Nigerians have worked so hard to affect change in the way we run this country but it looks as if the agents of darkness are still at work to scuttle a hard earned victory won with pains, tears and blood. Nigerians will soon know how many people PDP killed in order to suppress this imminent change.” -
